Cool Questions From You:
Dr. G recently asked us two bread and butter PI questions:

Q1: Is it beneficial to put ICD-10 codes in front of the diagnosis in the PI reports?

Answer: Always. More doctors are adding appropriate and specific ICD-10 codes because insurance may not pay the fees.

Q2: How do you justify future care if there is no supporting MD evaluation?

Answer: That can be a problem unless the case is quite small with no true residuals. However, if the patient suffered from a moderate or severe accident, it is always a good idea for you to refer for an MD evaluation to support your findings.
