BREAKING NEWS

Will Gov. Newsom Require Vaccinations for DCs and LAc?

images1.png

Not yet. In early August there was widespread concern when the California Department of Health issued an Order on August 5, 2021 requiring “all” health care providers to vaccinate.

The Order stated that “hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and other health care facility types…can have severe consequences for vulnerable populations, including hospitalization, severe illness, and death. That vaccination against COVID-19 is the most effective means of preventing infection…"

After the Order was issued, the California Department of Health restated their Order stating that chiropractic offices and acupuncture offices are not included.

Of course the California Department of Health can include chiropractors and acupuncturists anytime without notice. Cal-Chiro was instrumental in this revision of the original order protecting chiropractic. To get the copy of the Order, email johntawlian@shawnsteel.com.

Update, August 19, 2021 – California becomes first state to require proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative test for indoor events over 1,000 people. Click here to read about the update.

Everyone wants your patient’s medical records. Defense attorneys, insurance adjusters, and combative defense doctors. Even juries, judges, and arbitrators will read your records. When you prepare your chart notes and your report, anticipate an audience.

Well, Gary has a new form! Dr. Lewkovich offers Pro-Tips on what to do and not to do.

Some questions worth considering are:

• Is the request HIPAA compliant?

• Read the request carefully.

Rise in Car Crash Deaths Prompts New Seatbelt Mandate

images3.png

US drivers were driving less during the pandemic, but auto fatalities rose dramatically last year.

“Experts” are blaming people for not wearing seat belts. Risky behavior like speeding and driving drunk always increases risks. Over 38,000 people died in crash crashed last year. That’s 7% more than the year prior.

Some drivers argue that wearing a seat belt is a personal choice. We agree. However, I wear a seat belt because no one can really cheat physics. We’ve see too many fatalities where the deceased was literally thrown out of the car upon impact -- and the critical difference is the seatbelt. In Massachusetts, a survey shows that 4% fewer drivers are buckling up.

Juries are less forgiving if the evidence shows the plaintiff intentionally failed to wear their seat belt.

ACE'S TIP

Untitled design.jpg

Three Reasons to call me, even if it's not my case:

1. You need a second opinion about the quality of your patient's case.

2. You believe your patient's attorney is trying to screw you.

3. If you've been offered a deal too good to be true.
