Texas Police Officers Sue Tesla Over Autopilot Wreck

Five Texas police officers injured in a crash in Houston have sued Tesla, alleging that they were hurt after a Tesla Model X with its Autopilot system engaged crashed into them during a traffic stop in February.

The lawsuit claims that before the crash the driver of a Tesla Model X, who later was arrested on suspicion of intoxicated assault, was using the automaker's autopilot system

Tesla's autopilot system is already implicated in 11 other wrecks involving first responders on scene with flashing emergency lights. The lawsuit seeks up to $20 million in damages

LA County Sues Vanessa Bryant

Los Angeles County wants to know how much the family received from the confidential settlement Vanessa Bryant reached in June in the wrongful death action against the company that operated the helicopter that killed her husband, NBA Hall-of-Famer Kobe Bryant, and daughter Gianna Bryant.

Los Angeles County is responding to an invasion-of-privacy lawsuit filed by Vanessa Bryant after a helicopter crash.

In her suit, Vanessa Bryant alleges that first responders shared photos they took of the aftermath of the crash, which also killed six others, on grounds of negligence and emotional distress. County attorneys say their strategy in pursuing the confidential settlement agreement against Island Express Helicopters is to help them show possible "double-dipping" by Vanessa Bryant for the same harm.
