Back Injuries in Motor Vehicle Accd – Steve Wachs, DC Winner

Mother and daughter Esther and Brenda Quinonez were stopped at a San Diego intersection. Defendant admitted but claimed the chiropractic care was unreasonable.

Both plaintiffs were sent my ambulance to the local emergency room. Both plaintiffs incurred over 13,000 in combined medical fees. Complaints included upper back pain, left wrist pain requiring a splint and constant headaches.

No claim for permanent residuals was made.

Defendant hired orthopedic surgeon R Greenfield MD to argue against the injuries.

The jury awarded a combined $21,014.

The so called very conservative jury pool in San Diego treated the DC with respect and gave a fair award. Good work for Dr. Wachs.

Quinonez v. Matua 3720 11009 3033 -- Judge John S. Meyer

Practice Tips
Juries are impressed with ambulance and ER services.
Specific injury such as ‘left wrist splint’ is excellent evidence.
The DC had help with testimony from the MD Internist and the ER MD.
